Woodlawn, as its name suggests, is a place of trees, lawns and suburban homes. Woodlawn is a tightly knit community of 30, to 50 year old homes which are well appointed and nicely sited on 50 or 100 foot frontage lots. Woodlawn is still somewhat overlooked and offers great potential in a conveniently located family oriented neighbourhood.
History: The history of Woodlawn is well within recent memory. A place of rolling farmland but 50 years ago, with horses running across sweeping slopes, today Woodlawn is a well settled suburban neighbourhood.
Today:

• Average property price: $ 210,000
Parks and Recreation: There are some twenty parks, playgrounds, ball fields, and tennis courts offering many options for outdoor activities.

Amenities: There is an abundance of shopping choices within walking or close driving distance. And the full service Woodlawn Library, opened in a new location on Eisener Blvd in 2010. Please visit this link for more information.
Getting Around: You can walk and bike to many amenities in Woodlawn. As well, Metro Transit offers very good regular bus service throughout the region. Here is a link to schedules and routes.
Home Styles: Bungalows, 1.5 and 2 story homes are most prevalent. There are also a few townhomes and semi-detached houses. This is still a very affordable – some might say undervalued – neighbourhood with modest, but well-kept bungalow, 1 ½ storey and two storey homes on large, level lots.
Close to everything while maintaining its own neighbourhood feeling, Woodlawn has much to offer!
